Crafted editorial portraits and field action for a leading countryside journal.
Fieldsports Journal, part of the Time Well Spent group, became a recent client. Drawing on my countryside-sports experience with Tweed Media, I completed two separate editorial assignments for the magazine: a portrait session of guest editor Robbie Douglas‑Miller, and an independent full‑day shoot documenting a shooting party at Primrosehill Estate near Duns.
I planned and executed both shoots independently. The portrait session focused on Robbie Douglas‑Miller, capturing formal and editorial portraits. Separately, I spent a full day at Primrosehill Estate documenting a shooting party—capturing action sequences, handlers in the field, and location landscapes. I worked with journalist Sandy Swinton to ensure the visuals supported the article. Both assignments were photography‑only—no video.
We delivered two distinct, high‑quality photography packages that together supported the feature. The Robbie Douglas‑Miller portraits provided strong editorial character, while the Primrosehill shoot produced dynamic action images and location shots that anchored the article. Collaboration with Sandy Swinton ensured the imagery and copy complemented each other.
