The Elephant House
My path crossed again recently with a client I first worked with over 20 years ago - Andrew McRae. After seeing the video content I created for the Scottish Historic Buildings Trust at Custom House in Leith (another restoration Project), he reached out, keen to collaborate once more—this time on something truly iconic: the restoration of the fire-damaged Elephant House Café on George IV Bridge.
At our initial meeting, I pitched the idea of using drones—not just for sweeping visuals, but to make a creative statement about this restoration journey. This isn’t just another building project. The Elephant House has a global reputation, known as the birthplace of Harry Potter, so the storytelling needed to meet that legacy with care and clarity and using creative cinematic drone techniques was I felt the way forward creatively - Make an Impact.
I produced a long-form video for the client, alongside a series of sharp, 30-second clips tailored for social media—compact, atmospheric, and built to engage.
The second video is a vlog discussing and detailing how this shoot was done..
